De Parrotia persica kan een volwassen hoogte bereiken van 6 tot 8 meter. Het blad is ovaal van vorm en donkergroen van kleur. In de maanden februari en maart, verschijnen de kleine, helderrode bloemen in bundels. Deze bloemen zijn onopvallend maar geven de boom een warme, roestoranje gloed.

Parrotia persica gedijt het best op een zonnige tot half beschaduwde locatie. Hij groeit op vrijwel alle grondsoorten, maar voor een mooie herfstverkleuring wordt een vochtige bodem aanbevolen. De boom is winterhard en kan temperaturen tot -25°C verdragen. Hij is droogtetolerant en ongevoelig voor ziektes en ongedierte, waardoor hij een onderhoudsarme keuze is voor de tuin. Parrotia persica heeft weinig onderhoud nodig. Snoei is alleen nodig om dode of beschadigde takken te verwijderen. Bij leivormige exemplaren kan jaarlijkse snoei in de late winter of het vroege voorjaar nodig zijn om de gewenste vorm te behouden.

Wobbly and Poor Design

Update: nope! Not worth the money. My cat simply brushed against the divider, and it fell, knocking breakable things over. Not safe! It serves it's purpose, but...the screws were basically glued to the packaging. It took me longer to get the screws out of the packaging than it did to put it together. The assembly was easy. I am not mechanically inclined by any means, but the instructions, despite being very hard to read (I have over 40 eyes), were pretty simple. Structurally, it is very wobbly. I think they should have designed it with a middle rod to keep it more stable. I find that the attachments to the rods are wobbly and should have been screwed rather than popped into an attachment hole without reinforcement. That would have also made the room divider more stable. I have cats, but the material is easy to clean. I took a damp cloth to it, and it came right off. As far as see-through...I think it does a great job of masking theO other side of the room.. I just wish it was a little longer and closer to the floor stand. I like that it came with extra parts. It's just a very cheaply made item, and I don't think the price for the item reflects how cheaply it is made, how wobbly and unstable it is, or the poor design.
