Door hieraan te refereren, is het beste bewijs geleverd dat de legendarische Nederlandstalige troubadour voortleeft in onze herinnering.

Ook onder de krullenbol van Thijs Boontjes, die een groot bewonderaar is van het repertoire van Vermeulen, wordt die herinnering gekoesterd. Boontjes vindt het bijzonder spijtig dat al die mooie liederen van de zanger, die in 2004 overleden is, niet meer gezongen worden. Daar wil hij wat aan gaan doen in een theaterproductie die geheel gewijd zal zijn aan de werken van Bram Vermeulen, die meer was dan de eerste artistieke partner van Freek de Jonge in het cabaretduo Neerlands Hoop in Bange Dagen.

Boontjes wil liedjes als Politiek, Pauline en Testament weer gaan brengen in de theaters. Want Vermeulen, die heilig in reïncarnatie geloofde, is niet dood. Welnee, Bram leeft. En Thijs Boontjes is zijn vertolker.

Hoewel een theaterproductie momenteel helaas niet mogelijk is, is er nu wel deze CD beschikbaar met de liedjes van Bram Vermeulen gespeeld door Thijs Boontjes.
