Geranium macrorrhizum is een zeer sterke en betrouwbare bodembedekker die zorgt voor een natuurlijke en volle uitstraling in de tuin. Deze winterharde vaste plant staat bekend om zijn aromatische, frisgroene blad en zijn sterke groeikracht.

In het voorjaar bloeit hij rijk met roze tot purperen bloemen die mooi boven het blad uitsteken. De plant groeit snel uit tot een dicht tapijt, waardoor hij ideaal is voor borders, schaduwrijke plekken en het bedekken van grotere oppervlakken. Daarnaast helpt hij effectief bij het onderdrukken van onkruid.

Standplaats en verzorging
Geranium macrorrhizum groeit goed in zon, halfschaduw en schaduw en stelt weinig eisen aan de bodem. De plant is zeer onderhoudsarm en droogtetolerant zodra hij is aangeslagen. Na de bloei kan hij eventueel licht worden teruggesnoeid om de groei compact te houden.
