Події роману починаються у новорічну ніч, за кілька тижнів до повномасштабного вторгнення Росії в Україну. Головна героїня Зоя, власниця невеличкої будівельної компанії, отримує терміновий дзвінок про те, що одна з малярок впала з підмостків і серйозно поранена. Зоя змушена скасувати свої плани на Новий рік і відвезти жінку до лікарні, але, незважаючи на серйозну травму, та відмовляється від госпіталізації, і Зоя відвозить її додому, в село поблизу Києва, де малярка живе з чотирнадцятирічною донькою Оксаною.

Вранці 24 лютого 2022 року Зоя прокидається під звуки вибухів: почалося російське вторгнення. Через кілька днів вона дізнається, що травмована в новорічну ніч жінка померла, а її донька залишилась повною сиротою. Також стає відомо, що до її села наближаються росіяни. Зоя вирішує поїхати й забрати дівчинку до Києва, але не встигає вчасно повернутися: в село заїжджають російські танки.

Після трагічних подій Зої вдається вибратися з окупації. Щоб забути весь жах, свідком якого вона стала, жінка намагається почати нове життя у Лондоні. Але навіть там минуле не відпускає: раптово вона стикається з офіцером російської спецслужби, який особисто брав участь у вбивствах і зґвалтуваннях. Воєнний злочинець має достатньо грошей і без проблем отримує британську візу. Перед Зоєю постає дилема: знову тікати чи спробувати помститися негідникові?

В основу роману покладено публіцистичні матеріали та свідчення людей, які вижили в окупації, а також особистий досвід авторки.

Good basic t-shirt with one caveat

That's probably to be expected, but if you are a woman and that would bother you I would look for another shirt with women's sizing. Also, the neck is weirdly high and I keep pulling it away a bit. Not deal breakers for me but did cause me to knock off a star. If I could I'd give it four and a half stars.
