  • Layer 3 Gigabit performance at the network edge: The AT-X230-18GT delivers intelligent routing capabilities right where you need them, enabling efficient IPv4 and IPv6 traffic handling, static routes, and scalable routing options to optimize bandwidth and reduce latency across small to mid-size networks.
  • 18-port Gigabit connectivity with flexible uplink options: This model provides ample 10/100/1000 wiring for workstations, printers, and edge devices, with adaptable uplink choices to integrate smoothly with core switches, WAN links, or fiber backbones while maintaining a tidy, space-saving footprint.
  • Advanced quality of service and security: Built-in QoS features prioritize critical applications, while ACLs, VLAN segmentation, and IGMP/MLD multicast controls help secure and manage traffic. You can define policies that protect bandwidth for business-critical services and ensure predictable performance for voice, video, and data.
  • Comprehensive management for efficiency and reliability: Manage the AT-X230-18GT through a user-friendly web GUI, CLI, and SNMP for centralized monitoring. Features such as port-based access control, storm control, and secure management protocols simplify administration and strengthen network security.
  • Compact, enterprise-grade reliability for edge deployments: Designed for space-conscious environments, the switch supports rack-mountable deployment and delivers reliable, low-noise operation ideal for office closets or edge locations where performance matters without compromising on footprint.

how to install Allied Telesis AT-X230-18GT

  • Step 1: Plan your topology. Define the VLANs, IP addressing, and routing requirements for your edge network. Decide which devices will connect to the AT-X230-18GT and how uplinks to the core will be configured.
  • Step 2: Prepare the hardware. Mount the switch in a standard 1U rack or place it on a secure, vibration-free surface. Ensure proper ventilation and connect the power cable to a compliant power source.
  • Step 3: Connect network interfaces. Attach devices that will reside on the edge to the 18 Gigabit ports. If you are using uplinks or fiber, connect the appropriate uplink modules or media converters and verify link status.
  • Step 4: Access the management interface. Use a workstation on the same network to reach the switch’s IP address via the web GUI or connect through the CLI for initial configuration. Set admin credentials, define management VLANs, and enable secure management protocols.
  • Step 5: Configure routing, QoS, and security. Establish Layer 3 routes (static or dynamic as supported), set up VLANs, apply QoS policies for critical applications, and implement ACLs and port security to protect the edge. Save and back up configurations, and monitor performance through the management interface.

Seeing the Creative Process for Graphic Novels
Format: Paperback
This is a fascinating look at the early creative processes writers do when they make scripts for graphic novels. The only down side to this book is it doesn't show any comparison between the scripts and the final product. I suppose that's part of the fun of this book is that you have to imagine the graphics just like the original artists did.

Great Comic
Format: Kindle
Wolverine is one of my favorite Marvel characters. He encapsulates the paradox for young adolescent boys. He’s everything we wish to be, and at the same time, everything we would be terrified to be.

A huge book that gives you the hero's beginnings.
Format: Hardcover
I own several Marvel Omnibus collections (Captain America, Miller's Daredevil run, etc) but I have to say I think this one is the biggest in terms of thickness. This has a serious page count, and is definitely worth the money you spend on it for size alone. Those coming off the Wolverine movie and interested in more of his back-story will enjoy most of this. The stories here are not put together in chronological order of publication, but rather in chronological order of when it supposedly happened in his life. That being said, it's odd that Marvel chose to leave out "Origin", since that six-part story would have made an obvious choice for the beginning of this collection. Instead, we start out with a number of "Weapon X" stories that are supposed to set the stage for his creation into a weapon. The stories are not easy to follow for a casual read, however. You'll have to invest time reading dozens of dialogue balloons over the constantly-resting pose of Logan with wires coming out of him. Not the best start they could have hoped for, but I can see the logic of it. The Wolverine/Kitty Pryde miniseries is also here for some reason. I guess its inclusion into the collection is for completist purposes, but it's not that great. Eventually, you reach the Frank Miller Wolverine mini-series that started it all and paved the way for his solo series later on. If you've read that one, you know it's a classic as we get more back story into his Samurai/Ninja training past (and it's also rumored to be the basis for the second Wolverine solo film if it gets made). This leads into the first 10 issues of his solo series as we meet Logan's "Patch" identity, his weird black "facepaint mask" costume, and the dark dealings of Madripor. The colors here are rich and vibrant. Those who were disappointed with the washed-out look of the "Essentials" collection of Wolverine stuff will find nothing but happiness here. The price is reasonable for what you're getting here. Let me say again though that this is a MONSTER of a book, so you won't be carrying this around for a casual read at the coffee shop. This is more along the lines of a serious collector book than those Essential volumes.
