The AEM 21-772C Performance Cold Air Intake System produces horsepower and torque gains by replacing your vehicle's restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. This air intake system was designed, tuned and dyno-tested to fit specific Subaru Impreza models. Air enters the system through an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter for outstanding air flow, filtration and performance. The air filter is located in the original air box space and is protected by a heat shield which is designed to reduce intake air temperature and increase horsepower. The air intake tube is constructed from mandrel-bent aluminum featuring a durable gunmetal gray powder coated finish. This air intake system was developed to accommodate the engine's factory emissions control devices including the mass airflow sensor. The tapered cylinder shaped AEM Dryflow air filter is made from an oil-free, synthetic filter media that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed (depending on driving conditions). The air intake system is easy to install with commonly available tools and it is backed by AEM's Lifetime Limited Warranty. Some AEM air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards, while others are 50 state legal. Both filters for the price of one.
This filter set for my 10th generation Honda Civic is an excellent value and fits perfectly. Before installing, I compared both the cabin and engine air filters to the originals to ensure proper sizing, and they matched exactly.
Replacing the cabin air filter was very simple and straightforward. The engine air filter requires a bit more effort since you need to remove four screws to access the housing, but it is still an easy process.
Once opened, you simply remove the old filter and place the new one inside. Both filters appear to be high quality and, in fact, looked better constructed than the ones I removed.
I especially appreciate that this set includes both filters together, making it convenient to replace them at the same time.
Recently, while at the dealership, I overheard a technician inform a customer that replacing her air filters would cost $90. Considering how simple the process is, that price felt excessive. This two pack is very reasonably priced, and I have paid nearly the same amount in the past for just one filter (not from the dealership but auto zone).
These filters are well made, fit properly, and offer significant savings compared to dealership and ur local auto stores. I plan to continue purchasing this set for future replacements.
