Horse Crazy explores the meaning behind the love between girls and horses. Jean O'Malley Halley, a self-professed "horse girl," contends that this relationship and its cultural signifiers influence the manner in which young girls define their identity when it comes to gender. Halley examines how popular culture, including the "pony book" genre, uses horses to encourage conformity to gender norms but also insists that the loving relationship between a girl and a horse fundamentally challenges sexist and mainstream ideas of girlhood.
Horse Crazy looks at the relationships between girls and horses through the frameworks of Michel Foucault's concepts of normalization and biopower, drawing conclusions about the way girls' agency is both normalized and resistant to normalization. Segments of Halley's own experiences with horses as a young girl, as well as experiences from the perspective of other girls, are sources for examination. "Horsey girls," as she calls them, are girls who find a way to defy the expectations given to them by society--thinness, obsession with makeup and beauty, frailty--and gain the possibility of freedom in the process. Drawing on Nicole Shukin's uses of animal capital theories, Halley also explores the varied treatment of horses themselves as an example of the biopolitical use of nonhuman animals and the manipulation and exploitation of horse life. Comfortable Lightweight Flip Flops with Reliable Grip

Comfortable, Lightweight, and Easy for Everyday Wear

I picked these up mainly for casual wear and beach days, and they’ve honestly been a great grab. They were comfortable right out of the box, which isn’t always the case with flip flops. The footbed has a little bit of cushion without feeling overly soft or flimsy. They feel supportive enough for running quick errands but still light and easy to slide on.
The fit was true to size for me. They’re maybe slightly roomy in the toe area, but not in a way that bothers me. The straps don’t rub or dig in, which is usually my biggest concern with sandals like this.
They also seem well made. The material feels durable and not cheap, and they have that simple Columbia look that works with shorts or just something casual around the house.
Overall, solid pair of flips. Nothing flashy, just comfortable and reliable. I’d definitely buy them again.

Great treat replacing for motivated dogs!!!

i use this ball strictly for training purposes with my Aussie who is super obsessed with balls. My dog seriously loves this ball. This has taken the place of treats. When we aren’t training the ball goes in a closet. So far it’s durable enough for our training session. (If we have a good session he is rewarded with having free access to the ball for a limited time, he enjoys a little tug so I normally hold the rope and let him have at the ball) for $10 id say it’s worth it. It’s definitely not indestructible but it is cheaper for me to replace these than buying treats every week as rewards.

Well made. The puppies love it, BUT it is too hard for them at an early age ( 2 1/2 months. They ended up grabbing the rope. As they got 5-6 months they were fine. Make another model 1 inch smaller and half as hard

Durable & great deal

My foster German Shepherd has a jaw that's locked and loaded but love these cause I can play tug of war or fling it way across the yard. He's chewed or busted every ball he's received except these. I'm loving them. Very durable, bounces too really well and I can find it easily with the colors.
