The serrated/helix design creates air turbulence in the intake manifold. This turbulence increases the air pressure in the combustion chamber, resulting in increased performance and improved throttle response. The serrated/helix combination design also reduces intake whistle that occurs with helix-only designs (US PAT 07055513). This Silver Bullet throttle body spacer is precision machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for lightweight, high strength, and perfect fit and finish. This Silver Bullet throttle body spacer uses all factory mounting locations, making for a hassle-free installation. A supplied gasket provides a perfect seal. This kit also includes a silicone coupling to guarantee perfect fitment and air flow with the factory air intake system. Works perfect for BMW S63 engine.
I used this to change the oil on my BMW M8 with the S63 engine. It was a perfect fit. It extended far enough onto the filter housing to be quite secure with no risk of slipping off and stripping the housing. It was snug on the housing and did not bind up due to having a loose fit. The tool feels well-built and I suspect it will outlive me given my occasional personal use. It would still probably hold up well even for daily shop use as long as it was not abused (repeatedly dropped, slammed around, etc).
