Kidney vetch is found throughout the UK especially along the coast and on chalk grasslands where its clusters of showy yellow flowers can be seen from June to September.

This spreading native perennial grows to approximately 40cm and can cover bare ground in the right conditions. Kidney vetch provides nectar for pollinators and is the sole food plant for the caterpillars of the small blue butterfly. 

In the garden, it is ideal in wildlife gardens or attracting bees and butterflies in a border or rockery.

Sourced from native seed and grown for us in the UK, our 9cm pot plants are a quick and effective way to boost species in a wildflower meadow.

We recommend planting around 3 plants per metre square in groups of at least 3 per species for a naturalistic look.
