The MBF-2.4H is a specific 2.4mm flux-coated manganese bronze filler rod manufactured under the Omega brand by Torchmaster Australia. The "H" designates a 200-gram "Handy Pack" consisting of 500mm-long rods.

While predominantly distributed in the Australian market for Oxy-Acetylene gas brazing, it can also be adapted for specialised TIG brazing tasks involving cast iron, steel, and copper alloys.

Applications & Suitable Materials
Manganese bronze is highly regarded as a versatile "maintenance rod" due to its high bond strength and ductile properties. It is widely used to join or build up:
  • Ferrous metals: Cast iron, malleable iron, alloy steel, and carbon steel.
  • Non-ferrous metals: Copper, brass, and copper-zinc alloys.
  • Dissimilar combinations: Joining steel to cast iron or copper without melting the base metal.
  • Galvanized parts: Allows brazing without vaporizing or heavily damaging the surrounding protective zinc coating.
Crucial TIG Brazing Considerations
If you plan to use this specific flux-coated (MBF) rod with a TIG welder rather than an Oxy-Torch, keep these vital working steps in mind:
  • Flux Management: The "F" in MBF means it carries an external flux coating. In standard TIG welding, heavy flux coating creates massive arc instability, black soot, and tungsten contamination. For true TIG brazing, professionals typically prefer bare rods (like the MBB-2.4H variant) combined with standard Argon shielding gas. If you must use this flux-coated version, the flux coating is often cracked off manually before feeding, or the rod is used with a very specific, low-amperage "braze welding" technique.
  • Fume Hazard: Because RBCuZn-C alloys contain significant amounts of zinc, TIG brazing will cause the zinc to boil off as toxic white smoke. Always use a high-quality respirator and proper source extraction.
  • Settings: Use DC- (Direct Current Electrode Negative) with a sharp 2% Thoriated or Lanthanated tungsten. Direct the heat primarily onto the thicker base metal or the puddle itself, rather than hitting the manganese bronze rod directly with the intense TIG arc

For serious coffee connoisseurs
I got this coffee canister because I know that my coffee connoisseur, son will be staying at our home for a few months this spring. He invests in very good quality coffee beans and grinds his portions as needed. I know that this glass vacuum type jar will do the trick in keeping the beans fresh so that the oils don't dry out. My husband and I use a flip top hinged canister for our more regular grind and the speed at which my husband drinks coffee means that it's usually quite fresh without the vacuum additional feature. I would caution that it took a hot minute to figure out how it work and wasn't easy to get open the first time outta the blocks. Read the instructions so you get familiar with home the air is extracted and how to release the pressure to open the canister.

Nice glass canister
Holds coffee airtight, keeping it fresher longer. It's see-through, so even guests know where to get the coffee. Good quality.

Not what I expected
For the price, I thought this was a real air release coffee jar. The kind you can use a vacuum sealer on that really gets out all of the air. This is one of the press pump types. For most, this would be efficient, but I make espresso and need the freshest beans. I roast myself and need them to maintain their freshness and this doesn’t quite do it for me.

Thin glass but good container
My biggest worry with this container is that it is such thin glass. I fear if I were to hit it the wrong way or it even fell a foot it would shatter. The seal is very good though and holds my coffee beans. It is easy to open and seal. I have no issues with it and it does what it is intended for other than it being a bit thin.

I needed a secure container for my flour and this works perfect
I have a unique problem I have dart frogs and because I have dart frogs I have to raise flies unfortunately, the fruit flies really love flower, and I’m having a hard time getting a container that seals and keeps everything out because normally a bay leaf is good enough to keep whatever out of your flower but not not this so I got this container and it’s amazing it seals so nice and tight. You can literally pressurize it to keep your flower completely safe from silly things like fruit flies I know this is unusual, but if you’re looking for a container that really seals this one’s fantastic. I love that it’s glass. I love that you can actually pump the top to pressurize it and then you hit the other button to release the pressure. I will say it is kind of hard to pull the lid off so definitely go slow.
