Geschichte
Der dänische Möbeldesigner Arne Hovmand-Olsen wurde 1919 in Kirkeby Sogn geboren. In seiner Jugend zeigte Hovmand-Olsen großes Talent fürs Zeichnen und Designen und begann 1938 eine Tischlerausbildung bei Peder Olsen Sibast.  Er schrieb sich 1941 an einer technischen Fachschule in Århus ein und spezialisierte sich auf Möbeldesign. Nach seinem Abschluss eröffnete er sein eigenes Möbelstudio und konzipierte Designs im modernen skandinavischen Stil. Hovmand-Olsens Designs umfassen Sitzmöbel, Tische und Sekretäre, die alle eine charakteristisch schlichte Form mit klaren Linien, organischen Kurven und konischen Beinen aufweisen. Er liebte schön gemaserte Holzarten wie Teak und Palisander.
